There were 4.66 billion active internet users in January 2021, accounting for 59.5% of the world population. Every 6 out of 10 of these users accessed the internet to search for information.
This statistic is music to the ears of every e-commerce merchant. After all, any of those 6 users could be a potential customer! But how does an internet seller optimize their online store to attract ongoing clients?
It’s simple ─ by installing SEOPress.
SEOPress is a WordPress website plugin that helps merchants attract more web users and possible customers. Thanks to its ease of use, both novices and tech-savvy individuals can boost website traffic yesterday.
We’ll now take a short look at the key features of this plugin, as well as how to install and use it to benefit your website.
What Is SEOPress?
SEOPress is a WordPress-specific search engine optimization tool. To deliver the perfectly optimized website, SEOPress mixes the following ingredients:
- Easy-to-use installation wizard
- Meta title and description generator
- XML sitemap integration
- HTML sitemap integration
- Content analysis tool
- Google Knowledge Graph
- Facebook and Twitter card metadata generation
- Google Analytics tool, etc.
At its core, SEOPress generates an intuitive design for your website, which attracts more users down the line. By implementing state-of-the-art innovations, members can install the plugin for seamless sitemap production and content analysis.
The SEOPress plugin helps you generate organic traffic as well as optimize local SEO. Of course, SEOPress will optimize your content to rank high on every other search engine, too.
Thanks to the SEOPress-created XML sitemaps, search engines will be able to reach and crawl your website. This can come in handy for e-commerce sellers, as more attention will be brought to the shop in question.
The free version of SEOPress has almost everything a website creator needs. However, users can always upgrade to Premium and unlock extra features.
You’ll be able to import SEO metadata from CSV files, create video sitemaps, get internal linking suggestions, and more.
How to Use SEOPress?
The simplicity of SEOPress is one of the reasons for its rising popularity. Thanks to its user-friendly design, a growing number of tech gurus are transferring from competitors like All in One and Yoast to SEOPress.
We’ll now go over the two most popular methods of using SEOPress:
1. The Classic Method
The classic or evergreen method of using SEOPress is by combining it with a WordPress website builder. You can choose from various platforms: Bluehost, Oxygen, Seedprod, Elementor or Divi, and so on. My personal favorite is Elementor due to its ease of use and the number of features it boasts, charge-free.
Once you install a website builder and have configured SEOPress, you can begin setting up shop. Users can start out by creating titles and metas, sitemaps, and navigating social media networks, all through the dashboard.
2. The Universal SEO Metabox
The SEOPress 5.0 version includes a special feature: the first-ever Universal SEO Metabox. You can use this SEOPress feature with various WordPress page builders such as WPBakery and Elementor.
Make sure to update your SEOPress if you haven’t already, otherwise you won’t be able to take advantage of this feature.
Here’s what the Universal SEO Metabox includes:
- Title and meta description management
- Open Graph meta tag editing
- Facebook and Twitter card editing
- Meta robot tag creation
- Content optimization according to the highest SEO standards
In short, you’ll be able to play around with your SEO metadata and really make your website your own. In addition, by implementing this feature, you won’t have to switch between the WordPress editor and the builder anymore. You’ll have it all in one place!
Thanks to this single-code creation, your website editor will become a thing of the past.
To edit your site using the Universal SEO Metabox, first, you’ll need to log in. Then, you can scroll through your site and make changes as you go.
Hail maximum productivity and efficiency!
How to Install the SEOPress Plugin Step by Step?
Installing SEOPress is easy as 1, 2, 3. First, run WordPress and go to Plugins. Next, while on the plugin menu, select Add New, where you’ll type in SEOPress. Finally, click on Install Now and Activate, respectively.
Once you’ve done this, go to SEOPress > Dashboard. The installation will begin once you click on Get Started.
Keynote: If you’ve used other SEO plugins before, make sure you import the settings. If not, you can skip the Import SEO Settings step below.
1. Import SEO Settings
This is a crucial step in the installation process of SEOPress. Once the installation wizard pops up, the first step is to import your SEO settings. You can do so by selecting previous posts and terms metadata from your website and then clicking on Next Step.
2. Configure Your Site Data
We’re now moving on to data configuration. This is when you enter the general settings for your website as well as personal information, like your URL across various social media apps. You’ll have to list your website name, organization type, attach a picture of your logo, and so on.
3. Index Your Site
Next comes site indexing. Be careful with this one, as you don’t want Googlebot to index poor-quality content. If you want to disable indexing of particular features like posts or pages, check their boxes and proceed with the installation.
You can also disable specific taxonomy archives, including categories and tags.
4. Configure Advanced Option
Finally, you’ll configure the advanced options. This is where you can truly optimize your website features as you see fit. You can play around with permalink settings, redirect attachment pages, and choose which SEO columns you’ll display.
If you want to keep the default settings, don’t check or uncheck any boxes and proceed as is.
That’s it! You’ve successfully installed and added SEOPress to your WordPress website. Now, you can go to the dashboard and tweak other settings such as titles and metas, post types, and so on.
